Blog #32
After reading chapter eight of "The Great Gatsby," do you think that Jay Gatsby got what he deserves? Did you expect this to happen to Gatsby? What are your thoughts of chapter eight? Explain.
I do not think Gatsby deserved to die, but I do agree with Jesse, he might have used one of his connections to kill Tom so that he may be with Daisy without worrying about Tom.
I believe that Gatsby should be with Daisy because he worked so hard to get her and live near her. Daisy doesn't really care who she is with. Gatsby really loved Daisy.
I personally don't think that Gatsby should have gotten shot. But he did need some kind of consequence because just like Daisy, Tom and Jordan he is > careless person.
I think that Gatsby would have used his connections with Meyer Wolshiem and kill Tom while he gets back with Daisy and they live happily ever after. I was not expecting Gatsby to die like he did.
I dont think the Gatsby deserved to die. and i dont think that he would have used his conections to kill Tom because he is not that type of person. I think he would have just took Daisy with him and just forget about Tom.
My thoughts are certainly that Gatsby did not have to die in that crude manner. It was very unexpected but I feel that someone would have died anyway. The tensions between all of the characters were very high and people were getting really angry with eachother so I think eventually someone would have been killed.
