The book surprised me a lot towards the end. I had no idea that Janie was going to shoot Tea Cake because he was going crazy from the rabies. To have to shoot someone that you truly love, because you have to, must be one of the hardest things ever to do in life. I was quite happy with the ending and that it ended fairly well, and made sense with the beginning of the story.
This book had a good ending. the ending was some what of a suprise especually when it came to the point where she had to shoot Tea Cake because of his rabies. doing this would have to be a hard thing to overcome. toward the begining of the story i had no clue what was going to go on and i am happy that the ending made sence with the begining.
I am surprised that Janie shot Tea Cake because he was crazy from the rabies. It must have really been a hard thing for her to do, she had to kill the love of her life because he was trying to kill her. I think it did tie the ends together though with the beginning of the book.
The end of the book really shocked me alot becasue i had no idea it was going to end like that. Who would have known that Janie would have to shoot Tea Cake becasue of rabies it was just kind of weird. Overal this book was pretty interesting. I would not mind reading it again.
I never enjoyed this story at all. I felt that it was a waste of time to read. The ending was very suprising but it just seemed to be a terrible ending to a terrible book. I thought that maybe as we read it would become more interesting. But, it didn't, it just stayed boring to me the entire way through.
I think the ending was intresting. I didnt think it would end like that but i think that overall it was a good book. Janie had live her life
I personally did not like this book. I did not like how Janie went around with so many men and married so many times. Since I am catholic I don’t really think that Janie’s life was a good one.
i thought that the book was pretty good. the ending was good i likes it because it was such a suprise and i wasn't expecting such a tragic ending. At first i thought that Janie and Tea Cake were just going to have a happy ending but after the hurricane it just went downhill from there. i was shocked when i read that Tea Cake pulled the trigger three times and tried to kill Janie. Overall i think that made a good ending to the book.
After reading the entire book, I think that the ending was certainly shocking. I did not expect Tea Cake to die, especially with Janie killing him. The ending was good because it was unexpected.
The ending of this book took me completely by surprise. I would never have thought of this to be the ending of any book you might read. Overall this was a great book to read, and I really enjoyed this story.
The ending of “Their Eyes Were Watching God” really reminded me of the ending of “Old Yeller” because in that movie the ended up having to kill Old Yeller for he was bitten by a dog who had rabies two.
The ending of Their Eyes Were Watching God was better than I had anticipated. After the beginning of the story when we get the inference that Tea Cake is sort of a shady character but after being shot by Janie because he has rabies you feel bad for him. It complete makes up for the first impression we get of him at the beginning of the book.

I liked the book over all but i did not like the fact that Tea Cake died at the end. i was very surprised when Janie shot him. I though it was not the time for anyone else to die. i liked Tea Cake and i was disapionted when he died.
I figured that Tea Cake would get shot. Every book we read so far someone has to get shot at the end. It was to typical to have a sad ending now that I was kind of disappointed.
The book ended rather well I thought.Even though Tea Cake died at the end, I think that it was something meant to be. Janie finally did find her husband who really loved her. This book was a different book that I enjoyed because Janie lives her life trying to find a mate who fits her.
I personally think that the book ended exactly how it should have. During the book Hurston made it look like Janie was returning to town because she was robber or abused or something like that. Hurston made sure she threw a twist in and didn't end it this way. I think that is just her style of writing, to always keep the reader guessing.
I thought that the book was just average overall. I do not see what is so special about it. Also, I think that the book should have ended with Janies death so that we could see if she remarried or stayed single for the rest of her life.
One of my favorite things to happen at the end of a book is a complete and total surprising event that throws everything off. This book certainly quenched my thirst for that idea. I think it ended the way it was suppose to. I think the main focus was to make Janie grow stronger for each husband that she had been with.
