Blogging Project Post #10

If you were there when Thomas Paine and Patrick Henry said their speeches, would you feel motivated and willing to fight in the war after hearing what these men have said?

After listening to both of their speeches, I would most likely feel motivated to fight. For instance, taking care of the problem now while we are strong, so our children after us would not have to deal with this issue. That in itself would be enough for motivation.

After hearing the two speeches I was not motivated to fight in the war. The speeches were too complex for me to understand and seemed to ramble about the same subject over and over. I could barley follow what was going on and have no desire to fight for the cause.

After reading the speeches of Paine and Henry I would not be motivated to fight in the war. I would be more worried about myself than what is best for my county. While they both offer some points that would help me personally, neither provides enough evidence for why I should give my life.

I would totally be for the war if I hear these speeches. They were able to cover almost ever aspect of the war and what they are fighting for. It was an inspiration to many people, which encouraged them to join their side.

Yes, because both men made extremely valid points about how the king had treated the colonies like slaves, and just pushed them around since they were the weaker country. Although Thomas Paine and Patrick Henry both stood up for what they believed was right, it was a long shot for them to achieve their goals.
I would have been persuaded by them to join the cause because they made sure that the listeners understood that England would not push the colonies around anymore.

After hearing the speeches, I would definitely be motivated to fight. Based on the strong and inspirational words and themes in the speech and story, I can't imagine anything that could motivate me much more than they would. I believe that they achieved their goal of getting the people motivated for a successful war!

I think I would be very, very, very motivated. One reason, they explain that God will help us to win and if I were in those days, that would do a huge lot. Back then, America was very, very, very religious.

After hearing both of their speeches, i would have been motivated to fight in the war. when it says that we need to take care of the problems now that we are strong. that would make me want to go out and fight because that says that we are really strong and we have a good chance of winning the war.

I would feel more motivated to fight from Thomas’ for his was made for the every man and so that all people would understand and be motivated by it. While Henry’s was made to motivate people in a convention hall and motivating the richer and more educated to fight.

I would feel very motivated to fight in the war after hearing these two speeches. There are a few reasons and points that would have motivated me. The first would be the point that stated if we do not fight our children will have to. If I had kids I would definitely want to fight instead of them. Another thing would be that that one of the authors says that we are strong now and won’t get any stronger. This would make me want to fight because I would feel as if this is the only time we can fight and if I don't, we will have missed our opportunity.

I would definitely be motivated. Most likely it would be because of the famous line, "Give me Liberty or give me death." I think this is one of the most inspiring lines in all of the speeches.

I think that i would be highly motivated to fight in the war because they were very inspring in what they had to say.
