Blogging Post #23

Since we now have finished dark romantics, what did you think of all the poems? Did you understand them or had no clue what they meant? Were they easy to read? Explain.

The dark romantics to me were very unusual and difficult to read. Edgar Allen Poe's writings were the hardest to comprehend because of the word usage and storyline. I found it very hard to follow and concentrate when reading his peices along with many others. Therefore I did not like the dark romantics very much and hopefully I will not have to read them ever again.

All the poems that we have read in the dark romantics were very creepy and ominous. Most of them I like but a couple of them I really could not understand the whole point of the short story or poem. Such as the short story “The Fall of the House of Ushers” by Edgar Allen Poe. Also some of these poems were hard to read, so you kind of had to go over the line or versus again to interpret what the author was trying to say. But overall I enjoyed these stories and poems because they were very mysterious and ominous.

The poems in my opinion were so dark and deep in thought that at times i was very confused. During this period they also wrote differently in some cases making stories or poems hard to understand. Overall it was hard reading and I did not really enjoy it

I personally did not like the dark romantics. I thought it was to difficult to comprehend some of the stories and they were all saying the same message. Overall i would not recommend reading the Dark Romantics.

I didnt like the dark romantics. they had to much symbolism that was hard to figure out, they had alot of twist and turns and were just plain hard to follow. Also I don't like the dark stories I like the bright and nice good stories. And i hope this is the last time I read them.

I found the dark romantics to be extremely ominous and creepy. However, this is the main reason why I enjoyed them so much. They are so different from the average story that you come cross. I found all of the poems to be equally interesting in different ways. For some reason, I came to the realization that I understand the dark romantics more than any other form of literature. Although most people find them extremely confusing and complicated, I see them as interesting and fairly simple to comprehend. Overall, the dark romantics are an enjoyable and easy read for me.

I found the dark romantics to spark some kind of curiousity in my mind just by the shear amount of mystery and death that was involved in each poem. But I liked the stories the best because they showed how human people actually act in real life starting conflict and in the end killing someone or something.

I felt that the dark romantics were very hard to understand at first but after reveiwing them i've been able to understan them a little more. I agree with Ty about the raven. The way Poe had written is very hard to understand. I did not enjoy them at all.

The dark romantics were pretty interesting. They showed a different point in life that some don't think of every day. They were kinda somewhat hard to read but that was the writing style back when those authors wrote poems and stories. Overall the dark romantics were great and I really like them.

The dark romantics were hard to read and understand. Most of them were stories that painted different pictures in each persons mind. The stories were about the dark and evil side of the mind and how it can make people crazy by torturing themselves.

The Dark Romantics were longer stories but I could understand them fairly well. I thought they were pretty fun and exciting to read and some were scary. I really think it is enjoyable when they put a different outlook on people's thoughts and actions, and turn it into something weird and different.

The stories that we had read for the Dark romantics are great. They are always full of entertainment and suspense. That is what every great story needs to have to keep people locked in. They have not disappointed yet. And their perfect stories to tell if you want to scare someone as a campfire story. They are definitely the stories that will have you tossing and turning if you were younger.

I don't think the poems themselves really had much meaning. I think the authors wanted us to think about what they meant so we could come up with what we thought they meant.

i honestly thought of them not to have much meaning as the light romantic and they are not that easy to read and coucld use a little bit more symbolism.

The dark romantic poems were not very reader friendly in my eyes. I didnt like how the authors kept bringing up the fact of how creepy death is. They were kinda difficult to understand at times although i didnt want to understand the poems messages because of how depressing they seemed to be.

No they werent easy to read i thought because they were stories that we couldnt really relate to and I find that the hardest. The Raven was the easiest story to read I thought. I hope we never read this type of literature ever again.

It was easy to read the poems and stories that were centered around dark romantics. I didnt quite understand all the poems, but I at least have a slight grasp of the themes of the poems. The poems were easy to understand once we had gone over them, but before hand I did not get the background of the stories since most of them were written in olde english.

I liked the dark romantics alot. they were fun to read and i could understand. They were also interesting to read too. Emily Dickinson had some wierd poems, but they all made snese and talked about death.

To be honest, i really didn't understand them. Nor did I like reading them. They were talking about death and sometimes the poems wouldn't even rhyme. I kno you can do that but it was just so random. The poems were very random. I think that the arthors of those poems either have something wrong with them or has way too much time on their hands.

I did not enjoy reading the dark romantics at all. The storyline and most of the words were used in such a weird way which made it very hard to understand. I had to read the story over many times just to understand what was going on in it. I don't want to read them again.

The poems were not all that bad but personally I don’t like poems. I understood what most of them meant but some of the old language that was used was hard to understand.

I believe that the dark romantic poems were actually interesting to read. Although I do agree with Decrispino that it was hard to follow the actual thought of some of the poems, I sort of believe that that is the idea of wring them; to enagage in a little mystery, and have it be creepy at the same time.
