Blogging Post 30

I didn't know if it was just me, but I had hoped to hear more about Gatsby. If you thought so too, why? And if not, why not?

Nick has nothing but "great" words for Gatsby. Your mind starts to wonder why this man is such an influence on Nick. Maybe Nick has only seen the good side of Gatsby.

I did want to know more about Gatsby. All we know of him so far, is that he is young, rich and Nick's neighbor. yet, i think the author does a great job with giving us a little bit of detail on Gatsby. I think he does this to keep us reading more and find out more about him.

I was hoping to find out more about Gatsby as well, but I am positive we will learn more about him as we continue to read the book.

Well, considering the title I can agree with you. You think if something is named something specific. I think though well learn more about him later on in there story. Something tell me that he will have a “Great” role.

I was hoping to hear more about Gatsby, because the book is called The Great Gatsby, and were reading about all these hopeless characters, I mean when does Gatsby come into the book. Im sick of reading about Tom and Nick. This isn't the adventures of Tom and Nick

I noticed this too, but what I really noticed was that he was almost obsessed over him. Ever since he met him, he has treated him like he was his life’s hero or something. He has never said anything bad about him, so I guess there is something about him that we find out later into the book.

I didn’t really care if we were to learn more about Gatsby or not in this chapter for I believe that they author is trying to create a sense of mystery about Gatsby.

Seeing as how we just started, I'm sure Gatsby will be in the mix of things shortly. I can't really say im interested in seeing him yet, but as we learn more that could change.

In a way i did. He is so mysterious to the reader in the first couple chapters. You don't know if he is a social person, or just a rich stalker. Hopefully Chapter 3 can answer some of those questions for me.

I am very curious to find out what Gatsby is all about. At the same time I like that it is a cliffhanger to make us want to find out more about him. It also makes the story fun to read.

I was also hoping to hear more about Gatsby in the chapters. However, at least it gives me something to look forward to as I read. Gatsby is clearly meant to be a mysterious and extremely fascinating character, and I believe that the author is doing a great job of showing this in the story. This is why we are so fascinated with him and hope to learn more about his character.

Gatsby seems like a very intressing guy. He seems laid back and has no worries. In the movie they showed him to be quite the one to have the best parties in town. Mabey he is a hardcore partier and has parties to fit in? I would like to see more on who he actual is.

I also want to hear more about Gatsby because it seem like no matter where Nick goes in the book people are asking him if he knows Gatsby, after he tells them he lives in West Egg. Nick also facinated with him, and Nick rarely likes people in the book, so there has to be something up with Gatsby.

I was wondering why Gatsby is considered so “great” no one in this world is perfect or even close to it, I still don’t understand why nick conceders jay Gatsby to be so much greater than everyone else, when nick doesn’t even know who the man really is or anything about him.

I understand what your saying when you said that. i thought that he would be the first person that you would meet in the book, because the book is called the great gatsby. You really dont hear anything about him until the late second to early third chapter.

Yea I was astounished that the most important character in the book, who the book was named after, was only given minimum face time so the readers should know who this Gatsby fellow is and why he is important to the story.

So far through chapter three we have learned who Gatsby is, but he still seems mysterious and I still have some unanswered questions about him. I still don't know how Gatsby's family died, nor do I know how they became wealthy. Another question I have is what is Gatsby's objective in life and why does he have all these eccentric parties. Lastly what kind of relationship does he intend to have with Daisy Buchanan?

I did want to hear more about Gatsby. I think this is just because there are lots of rumors about the man so I want to know what the truth is. I think the author does this for a reason though, and it is very clever. I think the author does this to introduce the mysterious character but not give to much away. He does this to accomplish just what the question says, leave the reader wanting to know more.

Yes, I wanted to read more about Gatsby too. He is shown as a very impressive man who has everything. He is very interesting but the book still has not talked about him much.

I had hoped to hear more about Gatsby because sense the book is named after him I thought the book would revolve more around him. When the first chapter really revolves around Nick, Daisy, and Tom it kind of surprises me. Near the end of the chapter Gatsby is introduced in a weird way, which interests me in him again.

I am so far not even really interested in Gatsby. I even start to wonder why Nick is so interested in him. He doesn't even know the man and yet he's fascinated by him. I find that very odd seeing that he doesn't really know a single thing about him.

I like it when a book holds off details of a main character and releases bits of information in minute increments because that way the reader will have another reason to be on the edge of their seat while awaiting what happens next in the book.

I wanted to know more about Jay because he seems like such a myterious character. It feels like there is so much to learn about him because we know so little. What makes him interesting is that Nick constantly talks good about Jay. This makes me want to read more a figure out why.

I liked how they held off about talking about Gatsby. This made it so the reader actually wanted to read on and see what Mr. Gatsby really did do and what his background was. This idea really keeps people on the edge off the seat trying to guess what more is behind Mr. Gatsby.

That is an excellent view Celestina, no wonder why you have an A. Yes, you do start to wonder what does Gatsby have that Nick finds not so much attractive in a sexual way but, to the point where Nick actually says Gatsby the only thing he likes to remember about West Egg.

I wanted to find out who Gatsby really was and what he was up to, why was he having all these expensive parties and inviting complete strangers to drink and eat his food.
