After reading the second chapter of "The Great Gatsby", what did you think of it? Were you left with a few unanswered thoughts about the characters that have been introduced? Also, with the very little information given about Gatsby, what kind of person do you think he is?

The second chapter of the Great Gatsby was a wild one. I have officially decided that Tom does not think before he acts. When he hit Mrtyl in the face I was very shocked. Its also amazing how little it took to make him angry. Lastly i think that that had to had been a very awkward night for all parties.

I liked the second chapter because it did leave me with some unanswered questions. I was definitely surprised when Tom broke Myrtle's nose. I think Gatsby is a to-himself kind of guy. He does not want a lot of attention and He likes to be by himself.

The second chapter was pretty good. It kept up with the character of Tom with him always having a drink in his hand and he is always getting in trouble because of it. The chapter shows the truth about life, that there always will be people who will live in terrible condition with also no way out.

I was left with an unanswered question at the end of chapter 2. In the beginning Tom introduces himself as a person with high morals, but at the end of chapter 2 he is drunk? I think that Gatsby is a mysterious character but I think he is a protagonist.

I think the second chapter did a good job a setting the whole scene with tom and his affairs also it is hard to say who Gatsby is and to make a good judgement of him.

I liked this chapter of the book. It was confusing how Nick could take all of the things he saw while he was with Myrtle and Tom. From what i can tell about Gatsby now is that he seems to be very popular. The problem is Nick mdoesn't know why. I think he is very mysterious and doesn't like to talk about himself like he has something to hide.

The second chapter of the Great Gatsby was very interesting. It was kinda crazy though because Tom took his wife's cousin to see his mistress. This was very strange to me, this had me thinking that maybe Tom has something on Nick that is the reason he didn't tell his cousin about it.I think that Gatsby is a weird person, that has something up his sleeve for the people of West Egg.

Jay Gatsby, up to and through chapter two, is a very shady character. I keep wanting to learn more about Gatsby, but that characterization is excluded and leaves us hanging. So far to me Gatsby seems to be that creepy guy that gives the kids popsicles out of his basement, or in his case alcohol and wild parties to the cities adults.

Its odd that we no little information about Jay
Gatsby. We here many rumors about him and it seems that not many people know him. He doesnt even mingle with people at his own parties.

I thought that chapter two was the start of a bit more action. Although after chapter one when Tom made a reference to the book called "The Rise of the Colored Empire," I only lost a little respect for him. Now after chapter two we found out about his mistress is and I’ve lost complete respect for him because I can’t stand people who don’t respect women. I was left with a few unanswered questions. Why does tom feel like he needs to cheat on Daisy? Is she not putting out for him anymore? Is he cheating because she drinks so much? Is he doing this because he realizes that Daisy only married him for his money? I hope we find out why he feels the need to do this. When Tom hit myrtle for saying daisy over and over again I was saying to myself "I knew it was coming." The last thing that I have to say about this chapter is that I thought it was weird for nick to drink so much. He said he wasn’t much of a drinker but he went against his word.

The second chapter was very confusing to me, but it introduced alot of new characters as well as showed us different sides to characters we already know. After reading chapter two, I disliked Tom alot due to his actions and ignorance. First Tom cheated on his wife then he slaped Myrtle and made her bleed, which disgusted me. In the last scene, I thought it was funny how Nick woke up to Mr. Mckee who was half naked. Following chapter two, I was still left with the unanswered question of who Gatsby is. So far he was not explained or talked about much, and he seemed very mysterious when he stood at the dock that night.

The second chapter of the "Great Gatsby" did leave me with some unanswered questions. Tom hit Myrtle in the face and broke her nose. its to early to make an opinion of Gatsby yet because he has been in many scenes.

I think the second chapter of “The Great Gatsby” showed a lot about Tome. This chapter shows that not only does Tom commit adultery he does not care who knows about it. Tom’s ignorance is truly expressed and the reason he is unhappy is shown.

I think Gatsby is an outgoing person, with a drive to make people happy. I also believe that he is spreading some of the rumors about himself so people will talk about him consistently after his parties end. I don't really understand who Owl Eyes is.

I really enjoyed the second chapter of the great gatsby as well. As others have said I am surprised at how negitive the book makes Tom look, especially in this chapter of the book. The one thing I would like to know is how low can Tom get in this book?

I think that this book is one of those books that as you read on it could only get better. It is getting a lot easier to read and has a lot more better scenes in it. Also from what I have read about Gatsby that as the story goes on only more rumors will be told until he finally says who he really is.
