Class Overview

What do you think of Mr. Dutrow's class? What do you think he should do differently next year? What should he keep the same?

I think his class is okay. I really enjoyed the movie days. He should defiantly keep those in his daily planner. I do think that all of the reading responses were a little much. Maybe he could do something where he makes the blogs a little big longer to compensate that.

I agree with Andy. The responses never helped me. They just seemed to be busy work to me. I never learned anything new about the story. They were always regurgitation of the story and your own thoughts and opinions. I never understood how my thoughts would help me understand the story better. I did enjoy the movies though. They helped me get a better sense of the characters and how the stories went fluidly.

I think that blogs helped but all those reading responses did add up. I think maybe he should assign a little less.

Overall I think that Mr. Dutrow’s class was a very good one. The class was very entertaining and helped teach me a lot that may not have been fun but will help me in collage. I think next year there should be less one page responses because they can get annoying. I think most of the class should stay the same because it was very helpful.

i think his class is good. He is pretty cool and its funny when he picks on kids in class. I don't think he should change anything because when i look back i realize that the response essays did help me out on tests and quizes. Even though it seemed like a lot it was just me being lazy.

Overall, I think his class was good. There was definately too many responses every night, but in a way it helps us comprehend the ltierature better, but at the same time it becomes old very quick.

I think that he is doing everything great, although I would like for the paper on our authors to have more of a timeline. I do think he should keep the responses because although they are a pain to keep up with, they really help you while reading a book you might not fully understand.

Overall I think the class was alright except I wish we could have started our end of the year paper a little earlier instead of really starting it during the last two weeks of school. I also think that the one page responses every night helped us over the year

His classes go pretty well, for the most part. I think homework mostly every night gets a little tiring, however, we do get some nights off. I think i would have to say that the movie days are pretty fun. Also the in class disccussion on the different novels we read is a good time. We can get carried away into different topics, but still understand what we are talking about and can relate. I would have to say the homework should decrease a little, especially if there are homeworks from other classes that need to be done.

Mr. Dutrows class was fun and I learned a lot. It was just a lot of reading responses that I had to do and I think he should shorten them up for next year.

I think that class was okay; I struggled a lot through the year and might have to go to summer school, (hopefully not). I think that the class was sometime boring and could have been a little more exciting. My favorite classes were the days that we watched the movies. I believe that the movies helped me to understand the novel a lot better. I also think that there was to many responses because I would have to put other homework to the side so that I could read two or three chapters a night, I think that Mr. Dutrow should allow the students more time to read the chapters.

I think that the class is alright it's not as great as Mr. Harris' class though. But the movie days were the best especially when the movie involves someone getting hit by a car at 60 miles an hour. The only thing I would change would be that the every night response thing stop because some nights I just pushed it aside because I had to much to do in my other classes.

Mr. Dutrow has a nice class. it has it's boring days and it's fun days. Jus like any other class. Although, he does get mad pretty quick and unexpected sometimes. The thing he could change, is a different room. That room is really hot an it stinks sometimes. also, maybe less responses or maybe less reading. other than that, it's a nice class.

I liked the class but there was alot of work. I didnt like the fact we had to do reposes on each Chapter of any novel we had. I really didn't like doing responses on the short stories we read. That seemed the most complicated since the story's were eaiter really short or a hard read. I also didn't like the vocab homework. Overall though the class was easy. Mr. Dutrow did a good job explaining the stories and chapters we had so we understand it more and do better on the test and quizzes.

I think that Mr. Dutrow's class is a very good one. I say this because it challenges you, and it makes you think in different ways about things. I also think that it is a good class because Mr. Dutrow teaches in college so he knows how to teach us to get us ready for college.

I liked the class, it was alot of fun. The homework was a bit much. A response every night is alot to keep up with.

Mr. Dutrow's class was one of my favorite classes that I had all year. i really liked all of the movies that we watched. They really helped. the only thing that i would change would be all of the one page responces. they really pilled up on me and i was hard to get caught up.

I enjoyed Mr. Dutrow's class this year. What I mostly enjoyed about it was the class discussions because out of all the resources we used, I mostly learned from them. If he should change anything next year, he should change the his approach of the junior research paper. I think he should have the students turn in different parts of it at different times instead of having it due two weeks after it was introduced.

I think he should keep everything the same. The class was one of my favorite classes of the day. We learned alot and we also got to joke around at the same time. All of his projects were fun and the movies were enjoyable. So keep everything the same.

I think his class is fun. Mr. Dutrow goes over the material well and makes it easier to understand. Next year if he did not assign so much homework that would be fine with me. He should keep the extra credit and the stumping him before a test the same next year.

I liked Mr. Dutrow's class. If I could change anything it would be probrably lessen the amount of responses we get. I would also would of liked to work more on the research paper in class. Overall though, his class was fine.

I think he is a good teacher and he is very fast. He gives us a lot of work, but it prepares us well. He shouldn't change anything at all, he is doing just what he should be doing.

In my opinion, Mr. Dutrow's class is very easy. The only thing that could make Mr. Dutrow's class difficult is if you decide not to read. Reading the chapters and short stories makes all the difference in your grade, if you decide not to read, and just use spark notes, you will not do as good, and it will not improve your reading skills in the future.

I thought that the class was just an average class. I will not remember this class for years to come. I honestly didnt learn anything new. My SAT scores will not improve because of this class. I thought that the reading responses were a bad way of just keeping us busy everynight. I look forward to finishing up strong on the final.

I think Mr. Dutrow should do more responses like he had crammed on us for about 2 weeks in the 4th quarter since they were easy points. I think his class was ok; it was not my favorite, neither my least favorite.

I thought his class was good and fun. I would say that he shouldn't change a thing. The class was fun and all the classmates had a great time with all of the nicknames and jokes. I don't think he should change his lesson plans at all because that could make the class boring. I agree with Mike about the reading responses. I think he should make the assignment due for two nights and not one. It always seemed that the assignments were assigned the night that I had a load of homework. The only thing I would want to change, if possible, would be the research paper. I would have like to get it assigned a little earlier.
