Honestly, I did like the class it was fun but it was also serious at the same time. Writing a response every night i thought was ridiculous but i realized that they do help a lot on tests and quizes. My favorite story would probably be Gatsby. I liked how it was a mystery and many things happend that i did not expect until the end of the book.

Somehow or other this class ending up being one of my favorite classes. I usually dislike English class, but this year was different. A big factor for a good year was that we read American books, which is what I like reading about.

To be honest, I enjoyed English class this year, and also thought it was fun at the same time. Every story we read interested me, but Their Eyes Were Watching God was my favorite story. I liked how it showed Janie growing from young to old and all of life's experiences.

I didn't like the class but I didn't dislike the class. All and all, I liked the people that were in the class. I personally don't like English with the get-go either way. I didn't like the constant homework all the time, but who really did in the class anyhow.

Although the class itself was easy, the amount of work and reading we had to complete was a little much. Although in the long run I believe it will help me alot, and I have already noticed the difference in my writing ability. My favorite story would have to be The Great Gatsby by far, it was very interesting, it contained alot of action and it was very easy to follow.

English has always been my least liked subject of all. I just cannot ever find the patience nor ability to focus on reading a 200 plus page book. I find it extremely boring. Magazines and much better because of the great pictures they can have in them, and some of the articles can be pretty interesting.

I don't really have anything negative to say about the class. I think it was fun and watching the movies were enjoyable.

Personally i really didnt like this english class. The class was ok at times but then it would get very boring. Also the homework in that class was ridiculous. Maybe if i dint have to be typed all the time it wouldn;t be as bad. But i was like respnse after response, after a while you just dont feel like doing them anymore but and that where they just keep adding up. But the best pat of the class was readong The Great Gatsby. I really enjoyed that story.

I did enjoy the class at times but there were also times where i didn't have the best time. I think writing responses for every chapter was fairly pointless. Responses would've paid off if, for example, we went over them in class. The whole year i just wrote responses with to get them over with, i never really got anything out of them. My favorite story was Gatsby for a number of reasons. I liked the book because it always kept me guessing, but i also liked the fact that we watched two film versions of the book because it let me see a different side of the book.

For the most part this class wasn't bad. THe stories really didn't intrigue me at all. I didn't mind that Mr. Dutrow offers a relaxed atmosphere and teaching style. He seems to be very knowledgable and cultured. Responses were like punches in the face. They really messed me up.

To be completely honest, this was one of the most excellent classes I had this year. Now granted there were some times that we all were a little frustrated about the amount of work we had to finish but overall, this class made my year go over smoother. My favorite story was definately The Great Gatsby. My reason for liking it so much is because I feel that it was actually worth my time reading. And its saying alot when after reading a book, it makes me want to reda more by the author. So that is why right now I am currently reading Tender Is The Night, by the same F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Overall this year has been a lot of fun. There was some time when I didn't like it but overall while I was learning in it I had a lot of fun as well. SO hopefully I can take what I learned here and use some of the stuff for senior English next year.

I liked Mr. Dutrow’s English class because he challenges you, and he makes you see certain things in a story in a different way then what you first thought about. The only thing I didn’t like about the class was the reading response, other than that the class was good. I think the narrative of Frederick Douglass was the best story that we read because it was very interesting, and you didn’t know what was going to happen next in the story.

I did like English with Mr. Dutrow. We had our laughs. My favorite story was the crucible, mostly because Kevin France was a good John Proctor.

I liked the class because it was a lot of fun. Mr. Dutrow is a fun teacher to have and didn't give too much homework. My favorite assignment was the Hawthorne stories because I really like his writing.

I thought this year was actually fairly hard. I thought that we had an excessive amount of papers needed to be written. Also this thought probably came from me preocrastinanting all year. But I did like the fact we read all different kinds of books.

liked this years class. It was funny and very nice to read some of the many different books. It was a very serious course and it was challenging at times, but that is the way it is supposed to be.
