Novels

Of all of the major stories that we have read, which one did you enjoy the most? Was it the stories that we read in the beginning of the year, or was it the ones that we had saved until the end?

Of all of the stories we have read. It certainly is hard to choose just one but if I had to I think my favorite one would be the Crucible. I enjoyed that story a lot. The novel had a lot of intense parts to it. I especially liked the character development in the story of the Reverend that was summoned to the town to hunt witches.

Out of all the stories we have read throughout the year, I would have to say that The Great Gatsby was by far my favorite. I really enjoyed the plot of the story, and the characters all played very unique rolls that enhanced the book a lot. I was very surprised at the ending of the book, but it also showed how messed up everyone’s minds were during that time. Also the scene where Myrtle gets run over by the car is just hilarious, especially when we watched it in the newer version of the movie.

Of all the major stories we have read this year I liked Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass the most. I obviously liked the story and author sense I chose Douglass to do my research paper on. Overall I say that the stories towards the end of the year were better. This may come because they are fresher in my mind but I believe it is because of the quality of work.

Out of all the major stories that we had read during the year, I will have to say The Crucible was definately the best. I am pleased to be able to base my research paper on this as well.

I really don’t like to read especially when I am told to read a book for a class. So I can’t really say that I had a favorite book this year because I had to read the books for the class.

The novel that I enjoyed reading the most was The Great Gatsby, I loved the book because it was exciting and kept me interested at all times. The one thing that I liked about the novel was that I could not predict what was going to happen; the plot had many twist and turns. The Great Gatsby is great novel written for everyone to understand.

For me the stories at the end of the year were the better stories by far. Those stories were top tier of what truely defines an American classic. The best two stories of the year were Gatsby and TEWWG. They both clearly described what makes America so damn great and what it really is like to live the American Dream.

I liked them all, but i have to say that Their Eyes Were Watching God, has to be the best to me. It's closer to the time that we are in now, and i can also relate to it more. The other stories talked about death and have weird symbols and meanings. In this story, i understand everything.

In all honesty i did not like any of the novels we read. The only thing i did enjoy reading was the Crucible. Mostly because we read it in class.

Of all the stories that we read this year, I would say that Frederick Douglass' autobiography was the one I enjoyed the most. No other story really gave as much explanation and detail to let the reader know how life was at this point in time.

Out of all the stories we read throughout the year, I have to say that the ones at the end were the best. I thought they were the most entertaining due to their plot. I liked the novel "Their Eyes Were Watching God" the most because we get a perspective of what life was like for blacks in early civilization.

I liked the Great Gatsby because it was present during the 1920's and I like the jazz era. It was a very good book and it had a good plot to it.

Out of all the stories we read, I enjoyed The Great Gatsby the most. It had an interesting plot to it. Most stories focus on the poor and how people struggle to become successful in life. This story surrounded the life of the rich and how corrupt the rich life was. it had surprises and twists in the story which I liked a lot to.

My favorite novel this year in English class would have to be "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer". This book was a true American novel written by Mark Twain. I loved how it was about a mischievous boy who experiences some of the best things in life.

I thought that the Great Gatsby was my favorite story suprisingly because i thought that i would not like it. I learned about the culture of the 1920's and the storyline kept me interested. My least favorite story was the Crucible. Reading that story in school and class was just dreadful.

Though out all the stories we have read this year I thought the Great Gatsby was the best one by far. Would be because there was a lot of excitement in it because it was at the time of the roaring 20’s, when everybody was care free. So there were a lot of parties back then because of this.

I don't know about anyone else but, The Great Gatsby was the best novel we read this year. I really enjoyed every aspect of the book; the writing style, the symbolism, everything.
